INDIANAPOLIS -- Two-time Olympian in men’s discus Jarred Rome passed away on Saturday at age 42, his family announced. Rome was in Tulalip, Washington near his hometown to be inducted into the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame.
Iconic 1968 Olympic medalists and activists Tommie Smith and Dr. John Carlos will be inducted as Legends in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Hall of Fame, class of 2019, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) announced today.

The U.S. won eight golds on day two but couldn’t overcome Europe’s depth in the field events.
